As a fresh startup, the path for GS was endless. After rigorous brainstorming, research, and workshopping, we arrived at three potential directions to steer their brand and business. We weighed our strengths, analysed the gaps in the market, and unlocked where Will and Liam truly saw their business going. Helping us find their uniqueness, their x-factor, and their differentiation strategy.

As a fresh startup, the path for GS was endless. After rigorous brainstorming, research, and workshopping, we arrived at three potential directions to steer their brand and business. We weighed our strengths, analysed the gaps in the market, and unlocked where Will and Liam truly saw their business going. Helping us find their uniqueness, their x-factor, and their differentiation strategy.

Playing around with labels like academy, university, consulting group, firm, etc., didn't seem right. We wanted to lean into and emphasise the powerful duo these two gurus use to coach their clients. They're real people, talking to real people, not a 10-man corporate academy. However, they still possess the same experience and acumen as their older, more corporate competitors. But here's the kicker: they use modern-day growth tactics fit for the digital age, not your old-school consulting firm. This inspired the synthesis of a modern tech company mixed with a prestigious, Harvard-like agency.

We explored the idea of using the G as a letter mark logo, however the G seemed too ambiguous and juvenile. The idea of an arrow through the G was worth testing however after market research we realised it was too common, not doing GrowSaaS justice. To show their class, quality and expertise we decided to move towards a more minimal and timeless mark.

We found the idea of keeping the logo arranged in a circle created the idea of a community as well as one polished, completed badge. Bringing elements from a university, corporate firm and/or a certificate of achievement. After weeks of iteration, the idea of subtly showing the G +S through a timeless, clean mark proved to be the best route possible to build the GrowSaaS brand.

The pairing of two sans-serif fonts anchors the brand to still being a strong, authoritative, premium brand that will attract the best of the best, a sought after community. Pushing the brand to be 70% Ruler archetype and 30%Sage archetype.
